Woody Guthrie - Argumentative Essay Topic on Woodstock

Woody Guthrie - Argumentative Essay Topic on WoodstockA good argumentative essay is based on a relevant topic. The topic of this particular Woody Guthrie essay is actually relevant and very necessary for those who want to submit an argumentative essay on Woodstock. As far as Woody's contributions are concerned, the subject is based on his real life experiences on what happened in the latter part of the Summer of 1969.To begin with, I am going to talk about what I believe is one of the most important events of my life, which would ultimately lead me to become a writer. That would be the Summer of 1969, where I went to meet my friend and fellow student Woody Guthrie. He was an eighteen-year-old struggling musician who had no job to go to college. After he was living at home, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, which led him to quit his job to spend more time with his mother. He worked on his own and later started a group called, 'The Troubadours'. This group is actually the one I'm writing about now. My personal experience as a musician is what caused me to go to this school. After his illness, he had no time to get a college education for himself, but he did get it for his friends. At the time, he was living in California, where his girlfriend was in San Francisco. To cut a long story short, the summer of 1969 was a time of wild excitement, by which I mean drugs and alcohol. It was also the infamous time when several concerts were held at Golden Gate Park. A number of teenagers were found dead that summer and the search for the murderer lasted into the next year. The eventis now known as the 'Woodstock Music Festival' but at the time it was commonly referred to as 'The Wild West'. The name referred to the non-stop concerts that were going on at the park. The event was not only for hippies, but also for everyone. In the end, the Summer of 1969 has been named one of the most important events in history. Millions of people from all over the world attended the event and watched some of the greatest musicians and bands of the time to perform. Some of these bands were, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, the Who, and many more. The music performed included but was not limited to, Blue Yodel, Oh What a Beautiful Mornin ', Truckin', Gimme Shelter, What I Want You to Do and many more. The crucial point in my argumentative essay on Woody Guthrie is to use the events as a backdrop for this essay. I am using my experiences as a teenager as my main source material and using my observations of these events in my essay. What I hope is that those who read my essay on Woody Guthrie would gain an insight into the history of music and rock and roll.
